The Gods were surely laughing the day that Gisla and Enzo were betrothed.

Gisla is a shieldmaiden. A Viking princess. And a proud Heathen.

Enzo Vestalis is a former Bishop. A holier than thou man who burns pagans for sport.

Her path collides with Enzo’s when the former Bishop is sent to tame and convert her. His only purpose is to prevent the corruption of the Bay and keep the peace with the pagans.
